As I look out my window at the mound of snow blocking my sidewalk, I ponder … If I douse it with syrup, will the neighbor kids eat away a path for me? When the two feet of snow eventually melts, will a canoe be necessary? We can now accommodate the homeless Eskimos.

Smells like January

The ceramic Santas are packed in bubble wrap, the dead Christmas tree is stacked next to the garbage cans, the snow is knee-high, the Steelers are finished, and the house is still. It has all the markings of January. So, bring on 2010. I’m ready for a year of Tiger keeping his pants zipped and Lady Gaga continuing her quest to be the next Madonna. Will this be the year I finally read more than the first chapter of John Adams? Yes, bring on 2010 because this will be the year we launch the Pittsburgh South Writers Group and I publish my novel. Tell me what 2010 has in store for you.

Spelling

I am famous for misspelling words. Does that make me a terrible writer? I prefer a great story with a few mistakes, over a boring story written perfectly.
